Counseling for Highly Sensitive Child or Person:
As a parent of a highly sensitive child, dealing with this can sometimes be challenging. I offer guidance and counseling to understand and support highly sensitive children in their unique journey. In doing so, I can support you in accepting your high sensitivity. Such as mapping and processing your emotions and letting go (= accepting) of situations from the past. But also learning
setting boundaries
, rediscovering yourself and discovering your
unique qualities
. The focus throughout the process is on who you are and what works for you.
Highly sensitive children or individuals experience everything more intensely, have a lot of imagination, tend to be more creative and have a strong inner sense of justice … just to name a few examples.
But it also comes with its challenges. There are many stimuli, sounds and people everywhere – which often comes in ten times stronger for these children.
Methodology
I offer a guidance program and counseling to understand and support highly sensitive children or individuals in their unique journey. By teaching you what being highly sensitive means, you will be able to be more mindful of yourself, be more confident in life and, for example, be ahead of over-stimulation in many cases.
We begin with an introductory meeting of up to 30 minutes. During the introductory interview, you can experience whether you have a good feeling about me and the counseling. In this conversation, I can see if the course really suits you. Everyone is different therefore the sessions are different for everyone.
An HSP coaching program takes on average about 6 to 8 sessions of 1 hour, (with an evaluation in between)) depending on whether you are working on one or more areas. Again, we will discuss in advance what this will look like for you.
We work on boundaries. Understanding, tools and knowledge about high sensitivity. Awareness of overstimulation. Balance between head and heart. Getting started with beliefs. Between all sessions, themes of self-confidence and acceptance of yourself run as a common thread.
That way you know what to expect. Should you wish to proceed with an actual session during the introductory meeting, the costs are as described below. The follow-up sessions last 1 hour.
You set the route and the pace!
Do you recognize this in your child or yourself?
Your child or you are sensitive to stimuli
For example, your child may have trouble with crowded environments, lots of people or loud noises. And with too many stimuli, your child may become tense or overexcited.
Or. your child or you are very sweet and gentle by nature
but can (sometimes almost out of nowhere) suddenly become very busy or enormously angry.
And if your child is tense, busy or overexcited, it is difficult for your child to regain his or her own composure.
Or. your child or you sometimes have trouble falling asleep or sleeping through
Your child is wide awake when it’s time to sleep. Maybe your child will keep stalling and calling you. Or your child cannot sleep because the head is still too busy with thoughts.
Or. your child or you are sensitive to change
Your child often needs some time to get used to new things. If something suddenly changes then your child may be briefly (or considerably) upset by it. And switching from playing to bedtime, for example, may take some time or create resistance in your child.
Or. your child or you are sensitive to criticism
It usually comes in very hard and your child finds it difficult to deal with it. For example, your child absolutely cannot stand it when someone is angry. Or Your child may sometimes be anxious or insecure, tend toward perfectionism or have a fear of failure.
If you recognize yourself or your child in one or more of the statements above, then your child/or yourself is probably highly sensitive, and I can help you with that
